New functionality to automatically recognize the font format from the supplied file/stream.
A number of new style effects which can be accessed from D-Type Standard and/or D-Type PowerDoc Engine.
A new algorithm that additionally improves the appearance of certain classes of auto-hinted fonts. Additionally, the appearance of non-hinted fonts at small and medium sizes has been dramatically improved.
D-Type PowerDoc Engine supports parallel rasterization (clients can configure the number of threads for parallel rasterization).
Text Layout Extension based on the HarfBuzz text shaping engine has been upgraded to the latest version. At the same time, Text Layout Extension based on the ICU LayoutEngine no longer ships with the standard build.
Improved support for vertical font metrics.
Various other improvements and performance enhancements.
